Family of God Roger Dale Lampley
How do you become a member of the Family of God? We hear this phrase in churches and on Christian Radio. There is a song in the Hymnal singing about the Family of God. How do you get into the Family of God?
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Family of God
God made everything, He made us, the whole church is from God.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.
John 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
- The life of God is the light of men.
- God made all humankind; all humankind was by God.
- Is everybody part of the family of God, NO, you must come into the Family to be part of it. Not everybody here is part of my earthly family, but all members of my Godly family, is part of my family.
- Thumbs are fingers, but not all fingers are thumbs. You have five fingers on your hand and one thumb. God created all people, but not all people are part of God’s Family.
- Verse John 1:12 said that those that receive Him, have the power to be His Son. Those that believe in Jesus are part of the Family of God.
- We must believe that the family of God is real to believe in any of the members. You must believe Jesus is the Son of God.
Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
- The spirit will lead them to believe and become part of the Family of God.
- There is God the Father, there is God the Son, and there is God the Holy Spirit.
- Let me make this noticeably clear, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit live today, all three live today.
Children of God
We also hear the phrase, “Children of God”. Children of God seem to speak for itself, children of God are part of the family of God.
Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; hears of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together.
- When we are Children of God, we are heirs of God.
- Those that attack the Children of God are attacking the Family of God. What hurts the Family, hurts what makes up the Family.
- We the Children of God need to stand together in good and tough times.
- God always stands with His Children and Family.
To Be Part of the Kingdom
As being the Family of God and Children of God, we will also be part of the Kingdom of God. God has given us a path to the Kingdom of God, which is through Jesus Christ.
Acts 8:12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
- As a reminder, God created all people, and not all people are part of the Family of God.
- Jesus is a clear path to the Kingdom of God and becoming part of the family of God. The Holy Spirit baptized them.
- We are God’s creation we have the choice to accept the offer of salvation or reject it. Jesus is the path of salvation.
- We here at this church can help you with that path, it is your choice.
Have you ever heard about the Roman Road to salvation?
The Roman Road to Salvation is the path to take to become a member of the Family of God.
Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
- In this verse there is none righteous, we are all sinners, we all need salvation.
- Only Jesus is Righteous to provide salvation to us.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
- We have come short of the Glory of God to make it to Heaven or Salvation on our own.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
- Sin equals death, separation from God, and no heaven.
- But, through Jesus Christ we have eternal life, it is our choice.
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
- God sent Jesus, so would have a choice to be saved. So, we would have a choice to be saved or not to be saved. We can reject the salvation God offers. God did this out of love.
Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
- Just need to call on God.
Romans 10:9-13 The Message of Salvation to All
This group of scriptures explains the will of God for all his creation.
Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Rom 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Rom 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
May God Bless you, do not just read the Bible, Study It.
